"Attending the Community Leadership Workshop through the The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce has been an experience and a eye-opener. I have been an employee with the City of Norwich for over seventeen years. I have been to just about every place and every business we have had our classes. I have never experienced any of these places the way I have while being involved with GNACC forum. I have gained a better appreciation for the businesses, organizations, and people I have met during this journey. The experience would be invaluable to anyone who is involved with the City of Norwich and the connections made could only enhance the growth of our city. Thank you for the experience!" Michael, Norwich Police Dept - 2016 LEAD
"My name is Jamie Goulas and I am a Mortgage Loan Originator at Chelsea Groton Bank. I was involved with the GNACC LEAD program in 2017. I feel very fortunate to have been asked to participate in this leadership course. I learned so much in this program. Every monthly session was conducted at a different business location and that enabled us to be given a very in depth sense how those businesses were run and who made them successful. The program allowed us to learn things about each business that we would have never known without this experience. The leadership program not only brought us out into our community but the program thought us about our own, individual leadership style and how to use that when dealing with other people in our business and personal lives. If you are given the opportunity to participate, I highly suggest you take it. You will not regret it." Jamie Goulas, Chelsea Groton Bank
"The exposure to the business world that I received in the LEAD program has been invaluable. It was an unknown opportunity to see all that the City of Norwich and surrounding local communities have to offer. The LEAD program gives you the ability to refine your leadership skills, but also teaches you how to interact others learn based on their behavioral and motivational drivers. The networking opportunities you receive form this class are great for career development and advancement. The ability to see and meet local leaders and business owners, hear their stories and how they achieved their goals will help you on your personal path to success." "The Chamber leadership class is a great way to be introduced to fellow members of community who work in different industries. You get to develop great relationships and learn how to become a great leader. Hearing from different guest speakers and their “stories” really inspire me to believe that you don’t have to be anyone in particular you just have to “Want” it. I was honored to be given this opportunity to be part of the 2016 leadership class." Erin Tirrell, Dime Bank - 2016 LEAD
"Although I’ve worked in Norwich for the past decade, I was shocked to find out how unaware I was of all that’s happening throughout the city. Through classroom time, interactive facility tours, and group collaboration work I was able to get a much richer appreciation for all this city has to offer for its residents and those wishing to network, learn, and even advance their careers. Working with and listening to other area employees who were also considering or currently in leadership and management roles helped me to see that the path doesn’t always have to be direct and everyone’s story is unique. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to learn more about the community around them and those looking to progress in their careers and are wondering where to start. Katie Moors, NPU - 2016 LEAD
