10. Low Dues Structure. Our dues structure is
lower than any area chamber. It is more important to
us that our business, professional, governmental,
and non-profit sector leaders band together to help
each other and our community to thrive than it is to
make a little more money on dues. And if you are a
start-up business (not part of a franchise or other
business operation) having five or fewer employees,
your first year membership is on us!
9. Seminars that work for you. Our breakfast
seminars are designed to give you concrete
information and tools that you can take back to work
with you and use to improve productivity, reduce
costs, and improve profits. Best of all, thanks to
our sponsors, most of them are FREE to
members!
8. Insurance Programs. Members in our Chamber
are eligible to access group health, disability, and
life insurance programs that are designed to
maximize benefits while minimizing costs. Isn’t it

7. Member to Member Communications. Our
weekly e-mail newsletter to all our members doesn’t
contain just announcements from the Chamber. Rather,
subject to length and content limitations to keep
the service efficient, YOU can advertise
specials, sales, upcoming events, your sale or need
of business equipment. And this service is
FREE to members!
6. Member Oriented Assistance. Whether you
are faced with a crisis, or are considering an
expansion opportunity that you aren’t sure you are
ready for, at no charge to you, at your
request you can have a confidential meeting with a
SWOT (Strength Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats)
Team. We put together a group of professional and
business volunteers who will meet with you and,
without soliciting any business from you, give you
ideas and considerations to help you make and
implement the tough decisions.
5. Sponsorship Opportunities. From our
fantastic Golf Tournament to Business After Hours
events, to our award winning float entries in the
Winter Festival Parade, our members are offered
sponsorship opportunities that maximize exposure
of their offerings to their peers and the public
alike. At no additional charge, we recognize
and highlight our sponsors in all publicity for the
event that they sponsored, including during the
Chamber’s monthly Chamber Chatter show on radio
station WICH-AM.
4. Web Site Participation. Our new web site,
is designed by nationally award winning Weblink,
Inc., a company that specializes in web sites for
chambers of commerce, with content prepared by a
local company that has also won many national
awards, Miranda Creative. In addition to providing
information about upcoming events and our community,
we will list all of our members, with a picture if
you want, and provide links to members’ web sites.
The basic member listing is FREE. There will
also be a limited number of sponsorship
opportunities at our site, limited to members’
businesses.
3. Advocacy for Our Members. Whether you want
to put café tables on the sidewalk in front of your
business, or are looking for support in an
application before a governmental agency, this
Chamber stands with its members, and is willing to
write the letter of support, make the call on your
behalf, or attend a meeting to help you thrive. We
really believe that our community prospers when we
work together to make sure we each prosper.
2. Partnerships that Benefit us all. The
Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce has
partnered with Connecticut Business and Industry
Association , Rose City Renaissance, SECTER, Chamber
Insurance Trust, Connecticut Workforce Investment
Board, other area chambers to form the Norwich
office of Connecticut Works, and other organizations
to make sure that we don’t operate in a vacuum, and
that our collective voice is heard throughout the
State, and opportunities offered elsewhere are also
afforded our members.
