It is impossible to welcome
fall without feeling a little sad about saying goodbye to the summer. The sight
of turning leaves signals ‘get ready’ for family, holidays, and eventually
indoor activities! As businesses small and large close fiscal books as well as
windows, hardworking employees start to look forward to holiday gatherings with
their coworkers. MGM Grand at Foxwoods has several solutions that will make your
holiday planning a little less stressful!
Have you ever heard about our
‘BIG Little Christmas Party? The Big little, as we affectionately call it, is a
fantastic opportunity for small groups to be a part of some really big fun! This
year the BIG little is all new because it will be held in our all new ballroom
in the all new MGM Grand at Foxwoods Saturday, December 13th at 5:30 pm! Our
award winning chefs have created an enticing evening. It all starts with hot and
cold hors d’oeuvres, moves on to a hot buffet featuring Gingered Salmon, Chicken
with Buerre Blanc and spicy walnuts, Butternut Squash Ravioli, and of course a
Prime Rib carving station. Enjoy a selection of pastry with your coffee, then
prepare to party grand with a DJ and cash bar. The evening is priced per person,
so if your office has 3 or 30, we have a table for you!
Looking to hold your corporate
event in a private function room? We can accommodate large and small groups, and
have two different holiday menus to select from, both featuring the high end
cuisine for which Foxwoods is world famous. Our catering managers will help you
design your special evening and even help coordinate the entertainment! They
have the expertise to take the hard work out of the planning so everyone can
relax and enjoy themselves - whatever the party budget.
Please give us a call
(800-488-7777, *24245) and we can send you more details to help you select the
right party for your hardworking co-workers and friends.
Speaking of indoor activities
of fall, what is everybody’s favorite? FOOTBALL and BASKETBALL on TV! Did you
know that the Casino at MGM Grand now has plasma monitors at each gaming table?
If there is a game on-we have it! We here at MGM Grand are huge sports fans,
don’t want you to miss a minute! Good luck to our teams and to you too!

Norwich Public Utilities
Energy Efficiency First!
“Energy efficiency is key to mitigating higher costs” a statement from the
American Public Power Association (APPA) makes the case for Norwich Public
Utilities (NPU) Energy Efficiency Programs that are designed to help face the
challenges of higher energy costs. Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce
business members have an energy resource available right at their fingertips
that can provide them reliable and up to date information to realize significant
financial benefits. Check out NPU’s web site at
www.norwichpublicutilities.com as your source for energy efficiency
information and learn how to lower your energy use and significantly lower your
utility costs. Follow the links and take advantage of NPU’s energy saving
services. Or just give us a call at 823.4514 to schedule your energy assessment
today.
Norwich Public Utilities’ Energy Efficiency Programs have been up and running
for nearly two years, offering business customers information and assistance
about electric energy efficiency programs and how simple measures can save money
on electric bills. Many businesses have already discovered that efficiency is
the quickest and most cost-effective way to improve their bottom line and move
their business practices in a greener direction.
NPU’s first step in energy efficiency is to assess a business for its lighting
technology. A simple swapping of the old T12 (linear tubes) lights for newer and
far more energy efficient “T8” or “Super T8” technology is the easiest and
quickest way to start your journey towards greater efficiency. NPU offers a
standard 30% incentive to business customers who install energy-efficient
lighting, heating and cooling systems, refrigeration and motor systems.
As energy prices skyrocket, energy efficiency awareness needs to follow.
Businesses can take steps to control energy use and costs within their
own facility. Upgrading lighting may seem insignificant, but in reality, it is
an important investment in your business that will pay back in a very short
period of time.
According to APPA:
-
Energy efficiency modifications to buildings and operating systems can
reduce energy use, which will lower energy bills.
-
Typically, energy efficiency projects boost employee comfort and help
improve productivity.
-
Reductions in energy use have an environmental impact by reducing a
business’ carbon footprint and helping decrease the need for new or expanded
electric generating plants.
Efficient light bulbs, motion-sensors and LED exit signs are simple yet
effective steps for every customer to consider and the sooner the better. Let
NPU be your energy partner to show you the importance of energy efficiency and
the savings that can be achieved. Norwich Public Utilities is here for you to
provide reliable, environmentally responsible electric service at an affordable
price. Call NPU first to put efficiency first and start saving
today!
